   Kaymaklı Underground City is one of the most famous and extensive subterranean settlements in Cappadocia. Unlike other underground cities that focus on depth, Kaymaklı is known for its sprawling, maze-like network of tunnels and rooms carved into the soft volcanic rock.
   
   Used for centuries as a massive sanctuary by early Christians fleeing persecution, this city could house thousands of people along with their livestock and food supplies for months at a time.

   The Green Oasis of Cappadocia
   Ihlara Valley is a stunning 14 km (9-mile) canyon formed by the Melendiz River. Unlike the volcanic moonscape of central Cappadocia, Ihlara offers a lush, green paradise filled with trees, birds, and the soothing sound of flowing water.
