   Farol Preguiças, also known as Mandacaru Lighthouse, is located in Barreirinhas, Maranhão, on the banks of the Preguiças River. Standing 35 meters tall, it is one of the main tourist attractions in the region and offers an incredible panoramic view of where the river meets the sea and the dunes of the Lençóis Maranhenses. To reach the top, visitors climb 160 steps on a spiral staircase, which is worth it for the amazing scenery. Access to the lighthouse is by boat departing from Barreirinhas, through a river trip rich in nature and wildlife, such as capuchin monkeys. Farol Preguiças is perfect for those seeking close contact with natural beauty and local culture, plus great photo opportunities to treasure.
