6:00 AM: Start your day early in the morning from Rajkot and drive to Palitana, which is approximately 215 km away. Enjoy the scenic drive through the countryside of Gujarat, with the Aravalli Hills in the backdrop.
10:00 AM: Arrive at Palitana, a renowned pilgrimage site for Jains, and proceed to the base of Shatrunjaya Hill.
Begin your trek to the top of Shatrunjaya Hill, which is approximately 3.5 km long and comprises around 3750 steep steps. The trek is challenging but rewarding, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. -
Arrêt 2 · 6 h
Afternoon:
10:30 AM: As you ascend the hill, you'll encounter numerous intricately carved Jain temples, each with its unique architecture and history. Take your time to explore these temples and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Jainism.
Admire the exquisite marble carvings, sculptures, and precious stones that adorn the temples, and learn about the Jain Tirthankaras (spiritual leaders) revered in these temples.
1:00 PM: Reach the summit of Shatrunjaya Hill, where you'll find the revered Palitana Jain Temple complex. This complex consists of more than 800 temples dedicated to various Jain Tirthankaras.
Spend some time soaking in the spiritual atmosphere and enjoying the panoramic views from the hilltop. The serene surroundings and the divine aura of the temples create a unique experience. -
Arrêt 3
Evening:
2:30 PM: Begin the descent back to the base of the hill. Take your time to carefully descend the steep steps and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surroundings.
4:00 PM: Return to Palitana and have a delicious Gujarati lunch at a local restaurant. Gujarati cuisine is known for its unique flavors and vegetarian delicacies, which are a must-try during your visit to Gujarat.
