After such a morning comes a hearty, delicious meal in? It's about a 90-minute drive to the Summer Palace, a traditional Chinese garden consisting of Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill and the architectural, horticultural wonder that is Riverside House. Not as majestic as the Imperial Palace, this gem sparkles with symmetry, restraint and beauty.

We'll arrive at the hotel about 5:30. What a day.
