   Begin at the legendary Giza Plateau, home to the three great pyramids built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom. Your Egyptologist guide will introduce you to the stories behind Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, explaining how these enormous monuments were constructed and why they became some of the most recognizable landmarks on earth. You’ll have time to walk around the complex, admire the scale of the pyramids up close, and stop at the most memorable viewpoints for photographs.

   Continue to the Great Pyramid, the largest of the three pyramids and the only surviving wonder of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Your guide will explain the role of the pyramid within Khufu’s funerary complex and share details about its construction, orientation, and remarkable survival through thousands of years. You can explore the exterior and, depending on your selected ticket, choose to purchase additional access to the interior chambers.

   Leave the paved paths behind for a traditional camel ride through the desert landscape surrounding the pyramids. This is a short, relaxed ride rather than a long desert excursion, giving you time to appreciate the monuments from a different angle and capture classic photographs with the pyramids in the background.    Your final major stop is the Great Sphinx of Giza, the monumental figure with a lion’s body and human head that has guarded the plateau for thousands of years.
