概要
バティックはインドネシアの伝統的な芸術形式で、バティックという言葉は「小さな点のある布」を意味する「アンバティック」という言葉に由来すると考えられています。接尾辞「tik」は、小さな点、滴、点、または点を作ることを意味します。布地にロウ防染を施した技法です。バティックは、カンティングと呼ばれる噴出ツールを使用してレジストの点や線を描くか、キャップと呼ばれる銅製のスタンプを使用してレジストを印刷することによって作成されます。塗布されたワックスは染料に耐性があるため、職人は布を 1 つの色に浸し、熱湯でワックスを除去し、複数の色が必要な場合はこれを繰り返すことで選択的に色を付けることができます。
現在、バティックの技術は布地だけでなく、木製の手工芸品やその他のメディアでも見ることができます。バティックの複雑さと歴史が好きなら、ぜひそのプロセスを学んでみてください。
