   The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599. Ther modern version of the theatre was built by Sam Wanamaker and hosts regular plays in an open air environment

This was originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, the architect of Battersea Power Station, and built in two stages between 1947 and 1963. It is directly across the river from St Paul's Cathedral. The power station closed in 1981
