Just off the 7 Mile Beach Road lies the second largest wetland in Jamaica, The Great Morass, through which the Negril River runs.
Within it is the Royal Palm Reserve, with protected wetlands and fauna. This mangrove dense area is filled with hundreds of species endemic to the area, flora, birds, crocodiles, turtles and manatees.
