Stop 1
Tour starts with a departure from Akureyri Port were we drive towards the magnificent Lake Mývatn area.

Stop 2 · 45 min
We will stop at Goðafoss Waterfall on this tour. We stop there for 45minutes. It is one of the most popular destination in the area.

Stop 3
Our first stop at the Lake Mývatn area are the picturesque Skútustaðagígar Psuedo Craters,
formed from explosions when the flowing hot lava met with the ice cold water from the lake -
Stop 4
We come to the warm underground river in Grjótagjá
Rift, where you will stand on the continental rift between Europe and America -
Stop 5
The final stop by Lake Mývatn is the geothermal area of
Hverir, with boiling mud pools, steaming fumaroles and sulphur pits. Various photo stops are added to the tour depending on the weather. -
Stop 6
We continue to Dimmuborgir Lava Fields,
full of lava-pillars and formations that are rich of mythical sagas and ghoulish trails -
Stop 7 · 45 min
We stop at the wonderful Mývatn Bird Museum. Entry is included. We have a change to have light lunch or coffee on this stop. The big buses are unable to come here as it is a small place, and you get away from the big crowds.

We have a hut at the main port in Akureyri (Tangabryggja) marked with "Saga Travel". Our guides wear red jackets marked with "Saga Travel". If your ship arrives at the secondary port (Oddeyrarbryggja) our staff will meet you right outside the ship and walk you to our meeting point.
