    The Ponta do Queimado viewpoint is located on a promontory called Ponta do Queimado, in the parish of Serreta.

    In the 19th century, the site of the current viewpoint was used as a whale watching spot due to the excellent visibility over the sea.

    Serra de Santa Bárbara is located in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, in the extreme west of Terceira island. It consists of the remains of an inactive volcano - the largest on the island - which rises to 1,021 meters above sea level. For this reason, it is still the largest cloud dew point on the island, forming its own hydrographic basin.
