Hallo beste bezoeker, mijn naam is Arnaud en ik zal uw gids zijn in dit prachtige Provence. Van de 5 rondleidingen die ik aanbied, neem ik je vandaag mee naar de Romeinse monumenten van Pont du Gard, Nîmes en Orange.
De eerste korte stop is in Nîmes, voor de Maison Carrée, een voormalige Romeinse tempel, voordat we de audiogids gebruiken voor de rondleiding door de Arena van Nîmes.
We stoppen vervolgens bij de Pont du Gard voor een picknick met lokale producten van lokale boerderijen (alleen van april tot oktober), waarna we een wandeling rond de Pont du

Stop 1 · 15 min
After 45 minutes drive from Avignon, photo stop in front of the Maison Carrée de Nîmes, an ancient Roman temple dedicated to the grandsons of the Emperor Augustus.
Then 15 minutes walk to the Nîmes Arena. -
Stop 2 · 1 u
Audioguided tour of the splendid Nîmes bullring built around 100 AD on the model of the Colosseum of Rome.
Then 15 minutes walk to pick up the car and about 30 minutes drive to Pont du Gard.
NB: the visit to the Arena is not included between November and March. During this period we will only walk around the city to observe the main monuments of the city. -
Stop 3 · 1 u 45 min
After an hour-long picnic with a view of the Pont du Gard (only from April to October), walk around the magnificent and imposing Pont du Gard which was part of a 52 km long Roman aqueduct to supply Nîmes with water. It was built around the 50s AD.
Then 30 minutes drive to Orange. -
Stop 4 · 30 min
Photo stop at the Arc de Triomphe d’Orange with audio recordings of the history of the monument. Then 10 minutes drive to the Ancient Theatre.

Audioguided tour of the majestic ancient theatre built around 20 BC.
Then about 30 minutes drive back to the Check-out Point in Avignon.
