Stop 1 · 6 u
Discover the purest and most untouched side of the Lençóis Maranhenses in Santo Amaro, a peaceful village surrounded by towering dunes, crystal-clear lagoons, and breathtaking landscapes. Unlike the busier areas of the park, Santo Amaro offers a more exclusive and intimate experience, ideal for travelers seeking tranquility, authenticity, and direct contact with nature.
Here, the lagoons are deeper, larger, and often more vivid in color. Attractions like Lagoa das Andorinhas, Lagoa Gaivota, and Lagoa da Betânia encantam com águas transparentes e cenários perfeitos para fotos inesquecíveis. The access is made by 4x4 vehicles, crossing sandy trails that already make the journey an adventure on its own.
Santo Amaro also preserves the charm of a small, welcoming community where visitors can enjoy homemade cuisine, regional hospitality, and the calm rhythm of life typical of Maranhão’s interior. -

Discover one of Brazil’s most extraordinary natural wonders: the Lençóis Maranhenses, a stunning landscape of endless white sand dunes dotted with crystal-clear freshwater lagoons. Formed by seasonal rains, these turquoise pools create a surreal scenery that looks like a desert filled with life. Spread across 155,000 hectares of protected parkland, the Lençóis offer unforgettable views, serenity, and a unique connection with nature.
Visitors can explore the region by 4x4 vehicle, crossing dunes and riverbeds, or on foot along breathtaking trails that reveal hidden lagoons like Azul, Bonita, and Lagoa da Esperança. During the rainy season, between May and September, the lagoons reach their peak beauty, inviting travelers to swim in refreshing, calm waters surrounded by soft, untouched sand.
The nearby communities of Barreirinhas, Santo Amaro, and Atins add to the charm, offering warm hospitality and delicious Northeastern cuisine.
