Programma

1. Stop 1

   Mesquite, NV, located 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas near the Arizona state line, is a growing community with a population of 20,471. Known for its casino resorts, golf courses, and vibrant retirement community, Mesquite was settled by Mormon pioneers in 1880 and named after the mesquite timber near the original site.

2. Stop 2

   The Virgin River Gorge, a 15-mile river gorge carved by the Virgin River, opened to Interstate 15 traffic in December 1973 after nine years of construction. It was the most expensive rural interstate project at the time and offers stunning views, often compared to a mini Grand Canyon—though, unlike the Grand Canyon, you can actually drive through it!

3. Stop 3

   St. George, UT, located on the Arizona border in the northeastern Mojave Desert, is surrounded by the Pine Valley Mountains and near the convergence of three distinct geologic regions: the Mojave Desert, Colorado Plateau, and Great Basin. Known for year-round outdoor recreation and its proximity to Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon, St. George also boasts colorful landscapes and milder winters than most of Utah. With 68% of its population being members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it is often ranked as one of America's best places to live.

4. Stop 4

   Hurricane, UT, located in the Hurricane Valley of Washington County, is experiencing rapid population and industrial growth. The town got its name in the 1860s after a whirlwind blew the top off a buggy driven by Mormon leader Erastus Snow. Known for its historic peach and pecan orchards, open spaces, green fields, and small-town charm, Hurricane offers a unique blend of rural beauty and modern development.

5. Stop 5

   Springdale, UT, a charming town with a population of around 530, lies just outside the boundaries of Zion National Park. Known as the gateway to Zion, it offers a range of name-brand resorts, restaurants, and local attractions. Recently named one of the most charming towns in the US, Springdale combines small-town charm with easy access to natural beauty.

6. Stop 6 · 2 u 30 min

   During your visit to Zion National Park, you'll experience breathtaking scenery, including colorful canyons, towering sandstone cliffs, and diverse desert landscapes. Explore the park's rich history, from Ancestral Puebloan and Paiute cultures to Mormon pioneers, while enjoying the stunning natural architecture and wildlife. Between mid-May and mid-October, you’ll have about 2.5 hours to explore, while visits from mid-October to mid-May allow for approximately 5 hours in the park.
