Stop 2 · 2h
After a coffee and cappuccino break, along with some photos of Sorrento and its bay, we will continue driving for an additional 45 minutes to reach Positano. Here, a picture postcard comes to life—a patchwork of flat and domed roofs, along with vine-covered stairways that tumble down to meet the gentle curve of the beach.
You will have free time to explore this elegant summer resort, which is filled with designer boutiques, shops, and seaside cafés. You can also visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, notable for its dome made of majolica tiles, and home to a 13th-century Byzantine icon of a Black Madonna. For lunch, you can choose from various restaurants on the beach or opt for a light and delicious meal at one of the coffee shops. -
Stop 3 · 2h
You can explore one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in the world either on your own or with a licensed tour guide for an additional cost of €130. The city of Pompeii was destroyed and buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. This devastating eruption covered Pompeii in 4 to 6 meters (13 to 20 feet) of ash and pumice, and the city remained lost for nearly 1,700 years until its accidental rediscovery in 1749. Since then, excavations have provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into life during the height of the Roman Empire. Walking through the excavated site, you'll encounter perfectly preserved baths, theaters, temples, markets, and forums, allowing you to step back into the lives of ancient Romans.
After this extraordinary tour, you will be driven back home!
