The tour continues with a visit to the Trevi Fountain,it is more beautiful in real life though and if you follow the legend, throw a coin in the fountain and wish that you will one day return to Rome.

  5. Day 1: Colosseum and City Highlights · 30m

Another short walk down a narrow “vincolo” brings you to the Pantheon where you can visit the tomb of the Renaissance painter and architect Raphael.  The day finishes with another walk, past the Ancient Baths of Nero to Piazza Navona and Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers.

On the next part of the tour you can travel at your own pace and see some of the rooms not on the usual tourist itinerary. You meet with your guide at the entrance to the Vatican museums and head straight for the Belvedere Courtyard followed by the Pio-Clementine Museum with its wonderful display of statues from ancient Rome and Greece.

Then the tour continues to see some of the museum’s artworks: the Gallery of Tapestries; the Gallery of Maps that is home to an unparalleled collection of Renaissance Maps; the Sobiesky Room where you will see the Vatican’s largest canvas and the wonderful frescoes in the Immaculate Conception Rooms.

  10. Day 2: Vatican and Sistine Chapel · 30m

It is then time for a tour of St. Peter’s Basilica where you will explore the numerous side chapels with their hidden crypts. You will see Michelangelo’s Pietà and your guide will explain why this is the only work that he signed.
