Itinerary

  1. Stop 1 · 45m

The first stop is the Goreme Panorama viewpoint where you will admire one of the most beautiful views of Cappadocia. Your guide will tell you how this magnificent view came to be in Cappadocia.

  2. Stop 2 · 45m

Uchisar Castle is the highest rock formation in Cappadocia. Take unforgettable photos of the magnificent view.

  3. Stop 3 · 1h

There are more than 200 underground cities in Cappadocia. About 30 of them are open to the public as museums. You will see the most ideal and popular underground city. You will see the winery, church, kitchens, food storage areas and barns for animals while your guide gives you an idea about their daily lives.

  4. Stop 4 · 45m

The Cappadocia region is home to different and interesting products that will impress travelers regarding handicrafts. Onyx and zultanite, a lesser known natural stone, are one of the pearls of Cappadocia. Here, the stones are skillfully turned into jewelry.

You can buy a zultanite stone that changes 4-5 different colors as a souvenir.

  5. Stop 5 · 45m

Magnificent valley where you can see many recognizable natural rock formations in Cappadocia, including the famous camel-shaped rock. Use your imagination and see what other shapes you can find.

  6. Stop 6 · 45m

In Paşabağı (also known as the Valley of the Monks because of the St. Simon Chapel located there), you will feel like you are on another planet among the three-capped fairy chimneys that you can only see here.

  7. Stop 7 · 45m

Clay from the Kızılırmak River was first used in pottery by the Hittites before 1700 BC and continues to exist as an art form today. Watch a master demonstrate pottery making and painters apply delicate patterns. Or, step onto the potter's wheel yourself and make your own unique pot.

  8. Stop 8 · 1h 15m

It is a rock settlement located 2 kilometers east of Göreme Town. From the 4th century to the 13th century A.D, there was an intense monastic life in Göreme. There are churches, chapels, dining halls, and sitting areas in almost every rock block. The churches located in the Göreme Open-Air Museum are painted with 2 types of techniques. The first is the painting done directly on the rock surface and the second is the painting made on the rock with secco (tempera) and fresco techniques. The topics covered in the church are taken from the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. Today's Göreme Open Air Museum is the place where the religious education system was started. Soğanlı, Ihlara, and Açıksaray are places where the same education system was seen later. There are Girls and Boys Monastery, St. Basil's Church, Elmalı Church, St. Barbara Church, Yılanlı Church, Dark Church, Çarıklı Church, and Tokalı Church in Göreme Open Air Museum. Göreme Open Air Museum was opened to visitors in 1967.
