Überblick
Hisor ist eine Stadt im westlichen Tadschikistan, etwa 45 km westlich von Duschanbe. Es liegt in einer Höhe von 799–824 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel, umgeben von hohen Bergen. Die Hisor-Festung, die Residenz des Herrschers von Buchara, wird vermutet, dass sie bereits zur Zeit von Kyros dem Großen existierte und einundzwanzig Mal erobert wurde.

The incredible Hissar Fortress was once the magnificent palace of one of the Bukhara Emirate's most powerful beys! Inside, you'll find a stunning pool and a gorgeous garden. Across from the fortress, there's a lively market square with a caravanserai and a fantastic variety of shops. Hissar Fortress and the town have been settled since the 6th century BC and up until the mid-19th century! It was the beating heart of the Hissar valley, the main administrative, political, and economic centre.
