Itinerary
-
Discover how authentic Portuguese pastéis de nata are made during a hands-on cooking class in Lisbon. With guidance from your host, you’ll learn every stage of the recipe—from preparing and laminating the puff pastry to making the custard, shaping the tarts and achieving their signature caramelised finish.
As traditional puff pastry requires several resting periods, you’ll shape your pastéis using dough prepared in advance while learning how to complete the entire process at home.
You’ll also prepare a second traditional Portuguese recipe, which may be sweet or savoury and varies between sessions.
At the end, sit down together and enjoy both creations with tea. You’ll leave with the recipes and the skills to recreate a taste of Portugal at home.
