Onze rondleidingen worden uitgevoerd door mensen die in het dorp wonen. Wij zijn locals die ons monumentale dorp leven, liefhebben en promoten. Onze tour is daarom gevuld met heel veel lokale inhoud. We hebben veel verhalen, maar onze twee favorieten zijn het eren van de Pruisische 'oude lutheranen' die aan religieuze vervolging ontsnapten om naar Zuid-Australië te vluchten. Een plek waarvan ze niet eens wisten dat ze bestonden. De andere gaat over de Pruisische pioniersvrouwen en hun moed en vasthoudendheid om de kolonie van de hongerdood te redden. Hahndorf Walking Tours has exclusive access to this church where photos can be taken inside and out. Built in 1890 it is a prominent historic building which is much loved by parishioners and International visitors. Many people chose to get married in this church because of its grand entrance.

A fine example of Germanic architecture called fackwerk. It will be explained and a demonstration of how the joints used in the building were made.

There is a famous painting by Sir Hans Heysen at this location which will be visited on the tour as well as another amusing piece of photographic artwork which will satisfy your curiosity.

This shop is filled with great opportunities to purchase handcrafted German products. Justin and Rebecca have an entire oom FULL of Cuckoo clocks along with other treasure. Housed in one the traditional houses in the Main Street of Hahndorf.
