Overzicht
Een prachtige boswandeling van 9 km langs het kronkelende Water van Nevis naar de dramatische Steall Falls. De route slingert door de rotsachtige Neviskloof en opent naar het panoramische landschap van Glen Nevis.
Steall Falls is de op twee na hoogste waterval van Schotland en valt 105 meter naar beneden langs de rotswand. In het Gaelisch heet het An Steall Bàn wat "De Witte Spuit" betekent.
Dit iconische gebied komt voor in twee Harry Potter films.
Aan het einde van de wandeling is er een kabelbrug over de rivier voor de avontuurlijken!

Programma

From the car park we'll visit the nearby Polldubh Falls (Black Pool).
We'll then walk through the forest, along the banks of the Water of Nevis.
There are lots of small waterfalls and pools along the way.
We'll cross Paddy’s Bridge to the road for a short walk to the start of Nevis Gorge.
The terrain get's a little steeper and rocky, but your guide is on hand to help if necessary.
At the end of the gorge, we exit into the stunning Glen Nevis.
A short walk takes us to the imposing Steall Falls waterfall.
For anyone feeling adventurous, there's a wire rope bridge over the river.
Optionally, we can walk to the base of the waterfall. This ground is boggy and rocky.
We'll walk back on the same route, but the views change in the opposite direction.
This walk takes 3-4 hours depending on whether you cross the rope bridge.
A mandatory Medical & Consent form is required.
Ontmoetingspunt
Arriving at the carpark with your own vehicle is preferred. Meet at the picnic benches in the grassy area.
Pay & display car park (£4).
Your guide can give a lift for up to 4 people from the West End or Transport (Ellis Brigham) car parks.
